The Goal of the OGYLA Lacrosse Academy is to promote player & coach development.
Players will learn to master the fundamentals as instructors break down skill
development at an individual and team level, and teach decision-making through competition.
With attendees becoming students of the game, they will build self-confidence, improve lacrosse IQ
and learn to set high standards for sportsmanship and fair play. This program is designed to build
a well balanced, fundamentally sound, lacrosse player.
We highly encourage youth coaches to attend the Lacrosse Academy sessions as well. A major
component of the Academy this year will be to instruct coaches how to run more efficient and
engaging practice sessions for their teams.
The Academy will be staffed with the best coaches who are not only students of the game
themselves but ones that are positive role models, display excellent sportsmanship, know how to
break down skills, give positive feedback, and share the same passion for the game itself.
We believe that when players and coaches work hard together, and stay engaged, they have fun.
We will be creative in our curriculum to create a competitive and joyous environment for all. We
are enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with and develop youth lacrosse players in and
around the Portland area. Come join the OGYLA Lacrosse Academy, learn from the best, watch
the best, play with the best!!
